Apeiron Synthesis Ruthenium Catalysts for Olefin Metathesis

Efficient, Durable and Reusable Catalysts that Can Operate Under Demanding Conditions

Olefin metathesis catalysts, used in the formation of C-C double bonds, are readily available on the market. However, the development of catalysts which combine high activity with excellent tolerance to a variety of functional groups, and can operate under strenuous reaction conditions, is still challenging.

Apeiron Ru-NHC homogeneous metathesis catalysts show remarkable activity for various organic transformations (TON up to 90,000; TOF up to 6000 min-1). These catalysts also undergo heterogenization via easy and irreversible deposition on various solid supports. They can operate in the temperature from 0°C to 140°C in various non-polar and polar solvents, including water.1

GreenCat (44-0750) is an efficient, durable and reusable catalyst with a high affinity to silica gel. It promotes catalytic transformations in commercially available "green" solvents without further purification in the lab.

Nitro-Grela catalyst (44-0758) is an olefin metathesis initiator used in various ring-closing, cross and enyne metathesis reactions under very mild conditions. Its efficiency and capability for the synthesis of natural and biologically active compounds has been proven over the years.

StickyCat Cl (44-0765) is remarkable because of its high polarity and affinity to silica gel. The presence of an ammonium group polarizes the catalyst, and allows easy and very efficient removal of ruthenium impurities after the reaction. This results in isolation of products with only traces of residual ruthenium. Highly water-soluble Ru catalyst AquaMet (44-0768) also contains a quaternary ammonium group and exhibits very high polarity. This catalyst is especially good for ring-closing, cross and enyne metathesis reactions of water soluble substrates.

LatMet catalyst (44-0753) requires chemical and thermal activation in order to reach high catalytic activity. This catalyst is used for olefin metathesis polymerization.
